This is a vintage smoking jacket or short lounging robe made of a gold acetate fabric that is woven with a diamond pattern. The shawl lapels and turned cuffs are solid black satin and the pockets are also trimmed in black satin. It has an applied patch pocket on the left chest and on either side. This vintage smoking jacket closes with a matching black sash belt.
Age: 1950s, maybe early 60s
Label: Styled & Tailored For P Goodman Inc 3706 Notre Dame St. W. Montreal. P Goodman was located at that address from 1950 until 1968
Sizing: The label reads S for small, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 18 1/4” across seam-to-seam
Sleeves: 25”
Sleeve Inseam: 16”
Chest: 44”, taken under the arms depending on overlap
Waist: 44” around, but meant to be cinched with belt
Overall length: 36", measured flat at the back from the neck seam
Condition: This vintage smoking jacket is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, soiling staining or odour - very clean, this looks like it saw little, if any, use.
