This is a 1950s vintage smoking jacket or short lounging robe featuring a woven brocade pattern consisting of medallion shapes in red against black.  This vintage smoking jacket has black grosgrain shawl lapels and turned cuffs and closes with a matching black grosgrain sash belt.  It has patch pockets to the left breast and at either side, all trimmed in black grosgrain.    

Label: Tailored by Majestic

Material: No content label, but fabric appears to be either rayon or acetate

Sizing: Size M for medium is indicated, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 17 1/4” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 23 1/2” long

Sleeve Inseam: 16 1/4”

Chest: 45” around, taken under the arms, depending on overlap

Waist: 42”, but meant to be cinched with the sash belt

Overall length: 33 1/2”, measured at the back from the neck seam

Condition:  This vintage smoking jacket is in very good condition, with no signs of pronounced wear, tear, soiling or staining.  

This is a striking vintage smoking jacket with a very rich looking pattern….nice colour combination, sure to be noticed!
