1960s Vintage Irish Wool Tweed Coat Plaid Jack Clarke Dublin

This is a lovely quality vintage Irish wool tweed coat made by Jack Clarke of Dublin.   This vintage Irish wool tweed coat is made in a plaid patterned tweed wool in tones of red, ochre gold and white.  It is made in a simple style with a squared collar, wrist length sleeves, typical of 60s fashion when ladies wore gloves, and a five button front.  It is fully lined in a red toned faille fabric.
Label: Jack Clarke Hand Tailored in Dublin Ireland.  Jack Clarke opened his manufacturing business on South William Street in Dublin in 1932. Clarke’s focus was on producing quality garments.  At one point, his company employed 300 and was the largest clothing exporter in Ireland.  The business closed in 1972, although a retail business called The Richard and Alan Shop (later Richard Alan & Co.), managed by his sons, continued until 2020.
Content label:  100% Pure New Wool Made in the Republic of Ireland.  The fabric on this vintage Irish wool tweed coat is tightly woven in a medium weight, suitable for spring wear.

Sizing: There is no size label and although this vintage Irish wool tweed coat should fit a medium size, please note the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders:  16 1/2” across from seam-to-seam
Sleeves:  22” long from shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam:  15 1/2”
Bust: 41” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 39” around
Overall length: 41”, taken at the back from the neck seam
Condition:  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear or stains - this vintage Irish wool tweed coat was well cared for and stored over the years.
