We are endlessly grateful to our customers. In this case, we’re thankful for John Conner, who emailed us pics of his favorite pair of Birdies, a custom order from the early 1960s in cotton canvas with a pair of white stripes down one side. We forgot how much we loved this early ‘60s design, and we are proud of the fact that six decades later, they are, as John put it, “still serviceable.”  

These limited edition board shorts are inspired by John Conner’s original pair, which he wore across the globe for decades. They’re made of hard-wearing cotton canvas and are stone-washed for lived-in softness and perfect patina from day one. We’ve even replicated the dark rectangle on the left leg, where John’s pair once had a patch that protected that spot from the effects of the sun. This is Birdwell heritage at its very best.

Features: Heritage stripes on right leg. Triple lace closure with nickel-plated grommets. Signature Birdwell wax pocket with key loop. Nylon drawcord. Button fly with clear buttons. Stone-washed for a broken-in look and feel.  

Fit: Short length. Outseam ranges from 14” – 18” depending on your waist size. Tab closure allows for minor adjustments in fit.  

Fabric: 100% Stone-washed cotton canvas. 

Construction: Triple-needle reinforced seams. Hand-cut and sewn in Santa Ana, CA.  

Care: Machine Wash Cold. Do Not Bleach. Lay Flat to Dry. Do Not Iron. Do Not Dry Clean.
