This is a quality early 60s vintage mens wool jacket. This mens wool jacket is made in broad vertical maroon and navy blue stripes with a high set notched lapel. It has padded shoulders and a three button closure. There is a flapped pocket at either side and a pocket at the left chest. The sleeves have three button cuffs and the jacket has a double vent back. It is half lined in a maroon taffeta fabric. The wool is quite substantial, so this mens wool jacket is meant for cold weather use.
Label: Made in Italy Expressly For Morgan’s - the style of Morgan’s logo was used between 1957 and 1964. Henry Morgan was a high-end department store originally located in Montreal, Canada, but expanded to a few other locations over time. Everything that I’ve had that was purchased there has been a cut above in quality.
Fabric: Heavyweight wool twill
Sizing: Italian size 46 is indicated on this mens wool jacket which normally should be equivalent to a US size 36, but this is a vintage sizing that I think should fit a medium size (US 38-40) - please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 19” across seam to seam
Sleeves: 23 1/2” long from the shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 17”
Chest: 43” around, depending on overlap, and meant to fit loosely
Waist: 40” around
Length: 29”, measured flat
Condition: This mens wool jacket is in very clean condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour.
This mens wool jacket has a wonderful 60s collegiate look - beautiful quality, well tailored!
