This is an antique Torquay pottery vase featuring cherries amidst a linear geometric setting against a yellow background colour. The design looks to me to be later arts and crafts in inspiration however the vase could date into the 1920s. The underside reads Watcombe (?) Torquay Made in England - difficult to make out the top word, but this does look like the Watcombe mark. The vase measures 6 in height, 3 1/4 in diameter across the top and 2 1/2 in diameter across its bottom - it is fairly heavy for its size, weighing a little over 12 oz. It is in very good condition - there is some surface crazing to the glaze but nothing that detracts much from the display of the vase. Otherwise, no chips, cracks or pronounced wear.
This is a lovely display vase - I havent been able to find a similar example, so a nice acquisition for a collection.
