The Butler Bulldogs' 2011 Final Four run was a memorable one, as the team became just the second team in modern NCAA tournament history to make consecutive appearances in the national championship game. Led by head coach Brad Stevens, the Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 25-9 record and earned an at-large bid to the tournament.

Butler started off their tournament run with a 60-58 win over Old Dominion, followed by a 71-70 victory over top-seeded Pittsburgh. In the Sweet Sixteen, the Bulldogs defeated fourth-seeded Wisconsin 61-54, before advancing to the Elite Eight with a 74-71 win over second-seeded Florida.

In the Final Four, Butler faced off against eleventh-seeded Virginia Commonwealth, who had also made an impressive tournament run. Despite a valiant effort from VCU, Butler emerged victorious with a 70-62 win to advance to the national championship game for the second year in a row.

In the championship game, Butler faced off against Connecticut, but fell short in a 53-41 loss. Despite the disappointing end to the season, the Bulldogs' 2011 Final Four run will always be remembered as one of the greatest moments in the program's history.
