This Civil War poncho is a well-made replica used by both Northern and Southern troops.   Like the originals, this poncho is crafted from rubberized cloth which has been slit in the center to enable it to be slipped over the head. The material around this slit has been double layered for more strength. The outer edges are hemmed with a double thickness of the same cloth. Sixteen brass grommets around the outer edge of the poncho enable ties to be attached and the poncho can be used as an effective pup tent in an emergency. It measures 44 x 62 inches.
