This quilted workwear jacket is inspired by Edwardian redwork circa 1870s-1920s. Redwork was a traditional needlepoint technique that used a red thread called Turkey Red - the only colorfast thread on the market at the time. The technique was commonly used in domestic textiles such as quilts, napkins, pillow shams, tea towels, and aprons. The jacket features embroidered illustrations, a red cotton lining and bright red pom-poms affixed across the body. Produced by a woman-owned and operated factory in India.
All wear, mending, and idiosyncrasies are unique to the custom textile.
