The eternal template for cycling style was cemented by the great Italian cyclists of the mid 20th century: Bartali, Coppi, Antiquel and Bobbet. Amazing athletes they were, but they also exuded a mystique that has enthralled cycling to this day. In a throwback to those days of effortless style, we introduce the Mesh Resort Shirt. A Mediterranean blue, breathable mesh fabric with retro chest pockets. It fits like a slim-fit Polo or a relaxed-fit jersey. Wear it to increase your sprezzatura on and off the bike.

Fausto Coppi was the first proper cycling god. His bikes were beautiful; Bianchi still paints their bikes the same color. He also paid attention to his jerseys, socks, gloves, sunglasses in a way previous generations of cyclists hadn't thought to do. In post-WWII Italy, he projected glamour and style that the war-weary Italians desperately needed. The press covered him like a matinee idol.

Similarly, a modern La Dolce Vita Italian style became the apogee of mid-20th century style. Casual summer wear exploded. The world wanted to go on vacation — or at least dress like they were. In the 1950s, synthetic printable fabrics were introduced. While the style of these beautiful shirts is eternal, the primitive synthetic fabrics were hot and stiff and they retained odor.  Seventy years later, synthetics have come a long way and are far more odor-resistant and cooling than even the lightest cotton or wool. The latest hi-tech fabrics are actually cooler than wearing no shirt at all.

I bet you see where we are going with this: long story short we sought to combine the beauty of the classic Italian jerseys and knit shirts with the convenience and performance of the best modern Italian mesh cycling fabric, the same fabrics most teams are using in their summer grand tour jerseys.

We teamed up with our small Italian factory to produce the shirts and the founder, who was alive and cycling in 1950s Italy, just about teared up when we told him about the project. We think they did an amazing job executing our vision.
