  • Product Description

Joe B. Hall's 1984-1985 Kentucky Wildcats were coming off a Final Four run the previous season but the team would look totally different after losing two players, Mel Turpin and Sam Bowie, to the NBA Draft.  Luckily for Coach Hall, Kentucky did return a 6'8 All-American forward named Kenny Walker.

Walker led the Cats with 23 points per game on his way to being named the SEC Player of the Year.  Despite Walker's individual success Kentucky had a down year by their high standards, losing 12 games during the regular season and finishing 4th in the SEC.

None of that mattered when the NCAA Tournament started as the Wildcats earned a #12 seed in the West Region.  They first beat #5 Washington, 66-58 before taking down #4 UNLV, 64-61 to advance to the Sweet 16.  Kentucky's run would end there at the hands of Chris Mullin and #1 seed St. John's.
