Various paintings from India, c.1750. © The Trustees of the British Museum, London
This pocket square is inspired by a number of magnificent paintings from India in the British Museum’s collection.
The centrepiece features a man sitting on top of an elephant with two mahouts and female attendants walking alongside, from a gouache painting on paper in the Jaipur style, from India, c.1750. The border features four noblewomen playing a game of polo on horseback, from a gouache painting on paper in the Bundi style, from India, c.1750.
A combination of some stunning works of art, this square works equally well in a pointed or puff fold, the orange accents suiting a blue blazer perfectly.
