This is a lovely 1930s era clutch purse featuring silk embroidery on a light green fabric The purse was manufactured by Ed B Robinson of New York, London and Paris, known to be active during the 1940s and 50s, but I believe in existence during the 1930s. I believe that the purse was made from an older Chinese textile, very beautiful and rather intricate - a lot of work was put into embroidering this. The frame is made of worked brass and the clasp is made of clear lucite held by two brass loops and a centre filigree brass piece. The lining is a pink toned faille moiré fabric with three pockets, one of them zippered. The label reads “Exclusive Handbags by Ed B Robinson” and has the letters “EBR” within a purse shape. The back of the purse has a small cloth handle affixed to it. The purse, closed, measures 6 3/4” in height exclusive of its clasp, and 8 1/2” in width across the frame - it can expand to a depth of about 2 1/2”. It is in very good condition, clean with no signs of wear or tear. This is a lovely clutch purse - beautiful embroidery!
