This is a wonderful 1940s dressing gown or lounging robe made of a gold toned satin.  This 1940s dressing gown has padded shoulders, a quilted peaked lapel and collar, quilted cuffs and a quilted pocket at the right side - the robe folds over, secured by two interior ties and a matching sash belt.  This 1940s dressing gown has above the wrist length sleeves and is cut with a wide flare to the hemline so that the skirt falls in drapes.

Color: Gold tone of yellow

Material: Satin rayon

Sizing: No size is indicated on this 1940s dressing gown, and although this should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 16” across, seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 21” long, from shoulder seam 

Sleeve inseam: 15”

Bust: 38” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  30” around, uncinched, meant to be cinched with the belt

Hips:  Full, meant to fall loosely

Overall length: 49”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition:  Unfortunately, this 1940s dressing gown has three 3/4” stains - 2 at the centre back of the skirt and one at the lower left front {see 2nd and 3rd to last close-up photos).  There is also an area at the right front of the skirt that looks like a cat stuck its claws into the fabric (see last close-up photo).  I haven’t tried to remove the spots, but a specialist should be able to remove these - of course, the tiny fray tears are a more difficult (or impossible) fix.  The rest of this 1940s dressing gown is in very good condition with no other pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour.

This is a wonderful 1940s dressing gown, sold “as is” at a reasonable price - nice sheen to the fabric, old Hollywood movie star glamour!
