This is a wonderful vintage 1940s ladies coat featuring a bouclé finish black wool. This 1940s ladies coat has squared and padded shoulders with a wide pointy collar. The coat does up with four shiny black plastic buttons down the front and a hook and eye at the neck. This 1940s ladies coat has an accented waist and has a belt across the back. It is made in a lower calf length, the skirt of the coat being cut so as to flare out so that it falls in drapes - the draping is quite pronounced, notably at the back (note the hemline circumference given below). The sleeves are pleated at the cuff in order to tighten the cuff - there is a button at the cuff. The coat is fully lined in black satin and there is a pocket built into either side.
Label: No label, but you can see the area where the label might have been (see last close-up photo)

Sleeve Inseam: 16”
Bust: 44” around, 22” pit-to-pit

Condition: This 1940s ladies coat is in very good condition with no pronounced wear - a few pulls in the wool, but nothing major. Otherwise, no other tear, stains or odours - this coat looks like it saw very moderate use, and was well cared for and stored over the years.
This is a beautifully tailored 1940s ladies coat - original 40s fashion is getting hard to find!
