This is a beautifully styled vintage 1950s cocktail dress featuring a striking wiggle style made of red silk faille fabric.  This 1950s cocktail dress has a wide shawl collar with a V shaped neckline.  There is a ribbon and bow decoration below the bust that creates an empire look although the true waist is clearly accented in a sheath style. The dress has 3/4 length raglan style sleeves.  The bottom back is gathered in pleats with a decorative bow above the pleating.  The dress closes with a red Star brand metal zipper at the left side.  This 1950s cocktail dress is made in a below the knee length.  

Label: No label present, but obviously manufactured

Material: No content label, but obviously silk

Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this 1950s cocktail dress should fit a small size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior:

Sleeves: 26” from the mid-neck to the sleeve cuff edge

Sleeve Inseam: 14” long to the centre of the armpit gusset

Bust: 35”-36” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 26” around

Hips:  35”

Overall length: 39“, measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This 1950s cocktail dress is in excellent condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour. It looks like this it saw little use and was very well kept over the years.  

This is a wonderful quality cocktail party dress - exceptional style, 50s sophistication!
