This is a vintage 1950s era dressing gown or lounging robe featuring a woven brocade pattern consisting of ornate shapes in red against black.  The robe has black satin shawl lapels and turned cuffs and closes with a matching black satin sash belt.  It has patch pockets to the left breast and at either side, all trimmed in black satin.    

Label: Tailored by Majestic

Material: No content label, but fabric appears to be either rayon or acetate

Sizing: Size M for medium is indicated, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 18 1/2” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 26” long

Sleeve Inseam: 17”

Chest: 42” around, taken under the arms, depending on overlap

Waist: 42”, but meant to be cinched with the sash bel

Overall length: 45 1/2”, measured at the back from the neck seam

Condition:  This dressing gown is in very clean condition, quite crisp with no signs of wear, tear, soiling or staining.  The only issue is a poorly sewn seam to the right shoulder/sleeve seam, but this is original to the manufacturing of the dressing gown and this is very minor.  Otherwise, this dressing gown looks like it saw very little use. 

This is a striking vintage dressing gown with a very rich looking pattern….very nice condition, sure to be noticed!
