This is a wonderful prom dress / ball gown that dates to the 1950s. The dress is made with a strapless satin bodice and a skirt made of layers of champagne coloring or off white coloured netted tulle over a coarser netted base. It is sleeveless and the bodice has two rows of sequins along the top edge of the bodice. There are also sequins affixed around the bottom of the skirt of the dress. The dress was photographed with a crinoline - the use of a crinoline creates a fuller look although it’s not absolutely necessary, although a slip should be worn as the netting is semi-translucent. The dress closes with a a snap and hooks and eyes at the side of the bodice.


Label: None - most likely seamstress made


Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a small to medium size, please note the following measurements for fit:
Bust: 32”, but there is extra material to let out should you need it to be larger. It was taken in (hand stitched) by 3 inches on the right hand side of the bodice so this could easily be let out.
Waist: 28” also could let out to accomodate approximately 3 inches.
Hips: 54” (meant to be full and fall loosely/flare out)
Length: 50”, measured flat

Condition: This dress is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odours - there is a pinhead sized light brown dot stain on the bodice that I haven’t tried to remove as well as a tiny hole below the V shaped bodice, both issues very minor.

This is a lovely 1950s tulle prom dress - pretty style!
