This is a vintage red satin dressing gown / lounging robe woven with a pattern consisting of a repeating Chinese medallion symbol. This red satin dressing gown is made in a classic Western dressing gown style with shawl lapels, long sleeves with cuffs, and pockets at the left chest and either side. It closes with a matching sash belt and is fully lined in black satin.
Age: 1960s
Label: Oriental Made in China - I’ve had these Oriental brand robes previously and they were made in Shanghai and usually of 100% rayon.
Sizing: Size M for medium is indicated on this red satin dressing gown, and although I think that this would also fit a size US 44/46 (large) please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 19” from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeves: 25” long from the shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeve inseam: 19 1/2”
Chest: 46” around, approximate, with a normal overlap
Waist: 46”, with a normal overlap but meant to be cinched with belt
Overall length: 51", measured flat at the back
Condition: This red satin dressing gown is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odours - the belt does have a few thin white paint like spatters on the edge of one side of the belt. The robe looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years.
