This is a gorgeous vintage Christian Dior fur coat made exclusively for Holt Renfrew of Canada.This Christian Dior fur coat is made of sheared beaver that is dyed in a beige colour and arranged in vertical strips.  It has high set lapels and a rounded collar that can be worn either down or up.  The right lapel has a hook that secures to a loop positioned at the upper left so that the coat can be worn with an open or closed neckline (see photos for different poses).  There is a pocket built into either side that is lined in leather at the interior edge.  This Christian Dior fur coat is made in a full length and is fully lined in a grey satin fabric.  The original owner’s embroidered initials are applied to the lining of this Christian Dior fur coat - could be removed if desired.  

Age: This Christian Dior fur coat dates to pre-1973.  Due to the lack of French on the label, this pre-dates 1973 when the Canadian government mandated the use of both French and English on labels.

Sizing: No size is indicated on this Christian Dior fur coat, but it should fit a medium size - please rely on the following exterior measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the fur into account (compare measurements with a similar fur coat that you presently own or to your own body measurements, and also taking the cut of the garment into account):

Shoulders: 15” across from seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 24” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve inseam:  16”

Bust:  40” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  40” around

Hips:  42” around

Overall length:  45”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition:  This Christian Dior fur coat is in very good condition.  There is about a 6” area at the right upper side where the lining is unstitched - not necessary to immediately stitch, but stitching would be beneficial.  The fur is in very good condition and I have not detected any splits.  This Christian Dior fur coat t would benefit from a fur method cleaning but is very acceptable to wear as is.

This is a quality coat, what one would expect from a Christian Dior fur coat of the period!
