This is a vintage 1970s mens leather coat made in a trench style. This 1970s mens leather coat has wide notched lapels and collar, a three button front closure, brass buckled shoulder epaulets, a large box pleated flapped patch pocket attached to either side, a buckle belted waist adjustment at either side and a single 17 1/2” kick vent at the back.  This 1970s mens leather coat is lined in checked wool flannel over the lower interior and with an interlined acetate fabric over the upper interior.  The buttons are made in plastic with a faux leather look.  You can close the neck by attaching the button under the right collar to the corresponding buttonhole on the left lapel.   

Label:  The label is missing, but I previously had a very similar coat with a label that read C/L Jeno de Paris Montreal Made in Canada.  Jeno de Paris was a brand name of the Crown Leather Garment company of Montreal and first saw use in 1962.  It was officially registered as a brand name in 1979, but retired in 1984.  This brand is generally recognized as having produced excellent quality - there is no doubt that this 1970s mens leather coat was made by them.

Colour:  Brown in a slightly reddish tone

Sizing: Size 38 is indicated on this 1970s mens leather coat and although this should fit a medium size,  please note the following measurements for fit, taking the cut of this mens leather coat and thickness of the leather into account:

Shoulders:  18” from shoulder seam to shoulder seam

Sleeves: 24” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  16”

Chest: 44” around, taken under the arms - note that sizing is usually 4” less than chest measurement, making this a US size 44

Waist:  40” around, meant to be cinched with the side belts

Length:  39”

Condition:  This 1970s mens leather coat is in very good condition with the exception of some leather distressing and a tiny tear at the top of the kick vent (see last close-up photo).  Both of these issues can be treated by a leather specialist or shoemaker.  Otherwise, there are no other issues and this 1970s mens leather coat presents itself very well even with the distressing.
