This is a wonderful vintage men’s smoking jacket or short lounging robe featuring an Asian inspired patterned satin fabric. I believe that this smoking jacket dates to the late 1950s or early 1960s. The pattern is in a tones of yellow, blue, light blue and red an orangey red background. The smoking jacket has a black satin shawl collar, and turned cuffs as well as with a sash belt in black satin. It has a breast pocket and pocket at either side, also trimmed in black satin.
Label: Tailored by Majestic Made in Canada
Fabric: No fabric label on this smoking jacket, but I believe that it is a woven rayon. The fabric is not stiff like an acetate
Sizing: Size S for small is indicated on the label under the maker’s label - please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 18” across seam-to-seam
Sleeves: 25 1/2” long from shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 17” long
Chest: 42” around, approximate, depending on overlap
Waist: 42”, meant to be cinched with belt
Overall length: 33"
Condition: It is in very good condition with no wear, tear or odour - would benefit from a professional pressing, but clean and ready to wear.
This is a rich looking smoking jacket – attractive pattern and colour!
