This is a wonderful vintage 50s sweater (or early 60s) featuring a button up shawl collar. This 50s sweater is made in a medium weight maroon wool and knitted with alternating geometric shaped vertical bands in white, purple blue and bright green against the maroon background. There is a patch pocket applied to either lower side. It does up with six buttons down the front plus a button and loop at the neck to do up the collar - I did not photograph the sweater with the neck closed. The sweater is unlined.
