This is a very nice quality herringbone wool coat with a black velvet collar that dates most likely to the late 1980s. This wool coat has some of the features of a Chesterfield style of overcoat, most particularly the black velvet collar, the lack of a waist seam and the chest pocket, but is not strictly a Chesterfield in the classical sense. The wool coat has peaked lapels, slightly padded shoulders, velvet collar, a flapped pocket at either side, a chest pocket and a single 15” vent/kick pleat at the back. It does up with three buttons within a six button double breasted configuration and there are three buttons at either split cuff. The wool coat is fully lined in black viscose fabric.
