This is a very nice quality vintage Chesterfield coat that dates to the 1960s.  This vintage Chesterfield coat has a black velvet collar, no waist seam or the chest pocket, has notched lapels, slightly padded shoulders, a flapped pocket at either side and a single 10” vent/kick pleat at the back.  It does up with three buttons and there is a single button at either split cuff.  It is made in a knee length.  This vintage Chesterfield coat is half lined in grey viscose fabric.   

Label:  Moordale The Luxury Coat by Gledhill of England Exclusive to Progress Brand.  Progress Brand was a Montreal based manufacturer, producing this coat under license 

Retailer label:  Marcel Beaudry & Fils Granby Que.  Confection et Vêtements Sur Mesures

Union label:  ACWA, Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, used between 1962 and 1976

Fabric:  Fine herringbone tweed wool

Color: Charcoal, either a dark grey or a lighter black, with a black collar

Sizing: No size is indicated on this vintage Chesterfield coat and although this should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders:  19” across shoulder seams

Sleeves:  26 1/2” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  17” 

Chest:  44” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  43” around

Overall length: 38 1/2“ measured flat at the back from the neck seam to the hemline

Condition:  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, pulls, stains or odour - this vintage Chesterfield coat looks like it saw little use and was well cared for.
