This is a vintage Schott leather pea jacket made in the USA by Schott Bros. of New York.  This Schott leather pea jacket is based on the classic naval pea jacket by Schott which was made in wool, but is actually Schott’s model 860, made in 2001.  The label reads “U.S. 740N Pea Jacket Mfg. By Schott ® N.Y.C.”, but according to Schott, even though they used the 740N label, it is actually a model 860 produced in cowhide in 2001.  This Schott leather pea jacket does up to either side with an eight button double breasted configuration, each button impressed with Schott Bros.  It has a vertical slash pocket at either upper side and a horizontal pocket at either lower side.

Sizing: Size M for medium is indicated on this Schott leather pea jacket but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the leather into consideration:

Shoulders:  18 1/2” across, seam-to-seam

Sleeves:  25” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  17”

Chest: 45” around, taken under the arms, 22 1/2” pit-to-pit

Waist: 43” around

Overall length: 33 1/2“ measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This Schott leather pea jacket is in very clean condition with no pronounced leather wear - has one light scratch towards the bottom and other minor creasing or wear. This jacket is in very nice condition and looks to have seen little use.  These Schott leather pea jackets are solidly made and very robust, so with a bit of care, will last for years to come.
