Story:
One of the early days of the shop we had a customer come in (a cotton farmer from Fresno) who asked about denim using San Joaquin Valley Cotton. This question sent me on quite the adventure, having conversations with various denim makers, mills, sales reps and the like. All of which led me to a gentleman in Japan named Hajime Inoue and his company TCB. TCB is small sewing factory in Kojima that takes a very holistic approach to denim manufacturing. From fabric to the machines used to make TCB there's a ton of thought put into it. The 60's Jean was modeled on a specific pair of 501s that Inoue had from the mid-1960s and use a long staple cotton grown right near-by in the San Joaquin Valley. The indigo dye on these jeans is lighter and bluer than some current offerings, truer to the denim Levi's used during the 60s. The fit is a mid-rise jean with a bit of taper from the knee down.
