Behind the Messenger 841 Brand

"I had started my own brand called Messenger 841 in the Spring 2001, just a few months before the September 11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Urban fashion styles like FUBU, Phat Farm, Zoo York and other brands were doing good business. But these brands weren’t doing messenger styles. So I started a messenger style brand, Messenger 841. I used my radio code number 841 to name my brand. Thus, the brand name became Messenger 841." - Kurt Boone
