This strand is bow-drilled, and around 2,000 years old, excavated in Djenne, Mali. It is 30 inches long, and the graduated sizes are 6mm - 12mm in diameter. Holes are small. The soft peachy orange color of the quartz is from iron in the soil where it was found.
