This is an antique Quebec city souvenir sterling silver glove button hook.  The handle has an enamelled coat of arms of Quebec city, which reads “Natura Fortis Industria Crescit”, which translates to “strong nature prospers by work”.  This antique Quebec city souvenir is marked “sterling” on the stem.  This antique glove button hook is part of the collection of button hooks that was amassed by a long time collector. It measures 3 1/8” in length and weighs 6.7 grams.  These smaller button hooks were used for gloves, dress buttons, sleeves or shirt collars and are generally called glove hooks.  It is in very good condition.
