Our Bridle Belts are made from thick, premium 10-11 oz. bridle leather. The finish is what we like to call "buttery" with a nice touch that you would expect from real top grain leather.

We hand cut each belt from the cow hide and finish the edges with our favorite edge die and then burnish every edge to give you the best finish. 

What is bridle leather?

Bridle Leather refers to the way a cow hide is finished at the tannery. Bridle leather has both the Flesh (Back) and Grain(Top) side of the leather stuffed with greases and finished with wax for protection from water and outside wear. This is generally a labour intensive process, making it expensive!

Bridle leather is traditionally used for equestrian equipment such as bridles, halters, and harnesses. 

What does 10-11 oz. Mean?

Ounces is the form of measurement used to gauge the thickness of leather. It refers to how many ounces the leather weighs per square foot. This equates to about 5/32's thick for 10-11 oz leather. Thats a good belt!
