Story

Imagine being a child, teenager, or young adult and knowing that something does not feel right about you but not being able to express what you are feeling. Imagine the pain, confusion and anger that you would feel. Imagine seeing countless doctors and being misdiagnosed multiple times. Imagine being fed pill after pill, knowing that they were not the answer. Imagine feeling like you’ll never be “normal” and that this pain will be with you for the rest of your life. This design is inspired by those feelings.

Michael Trulis, Director of Graphic Design at 6 Clothing, is one of the millions of people who has had to deal with the silent struggles of Chiari Malformation (structural defects in the base of the skull and cerebellum). This is part 2 in a series dedicated to raising awareness about Chiari Malformation (see our Chi Head shirt for part 1) and is meant to depict Mike’s interpretation of himself as a child.
