"America’s prince of pop”—as PLAYBOY christened Andy Warhol in 1967—had a nearly 30-year relationship with the magazine. Warhol was a beloved contributor over the years and was tapped to design the cover of the January 1986 holiday anniversary issue. “I’ve got bunnies on the brain,” Warhol said at the time.
Warhol's version of the Rabbit Head logo was derived from a simple sketch the artist made with acrylic paint on paper in 1985. This simple, classic design will never go out of style.
