The Eighteenth Amendment marked the beginning of prohibition; a sad and horrible time for Americans who wanted to enjoy their God given right to get blind stinking drunk. The Great Depression in 1929 was the beginning of the end for prohibition as the country's citizens and city financial councils saw the economic inefficiency of allowing black market booze to be pedaled by gangsters tax free. 4 years later, on December 5th, 1933, Prohibition ends at last and good ol' American folk were able to get back to their safe, legally made booze. This design is a screen print of an actual newspaper from the 1930's marking this historic day.
