The sophisticated technique used in making the trim on this treasure originates from the handwork of creating Burqas, used to cover women’s eyes, in Afghanistan. We transformed this concept into the hem and cuffs of a mid-thigh evening dress. Adding another layer of elegance, we designed the cuffs to have a beaded outline at the burqa material. You can feel the patience and sense of accomplishment these women had as they created this rich and exquisite piece.
Stylist tip: richly elegant and uniquely simple. Pair this piece with a dramatic long pendant, or keep it short with a choker. Dry clean.
