Story

Long-legged and straight-necked, in love with wide expanses and modern moonlight, the Roadrunner was born to run (or, at the very least, walk really fast). The Roadrunner is the first jumpsuit we've ever offered, and it's quickly become one of my favorite pieces in this collection. Fitted throughout the bust, waist, and hips, the piece has a retro vibe unlike your typical oversized jumpsuit, but it's designed with enough ease to still be super comfortable.

For the pants portion of the suit, I used the same pattern as SS17's Sawyer Pants to create (again) the perfect wide leg. And the bodice part of the suit was taken from this season's Piper Dress. At first, I actually wasn't sure if my Frankenstein-esque splicing of two different patterns was going to work, but once I sewed up the first sample, I knew the Roadrunner was ... ready to run. (Sorry, couldn't help it.)

Materials

This jumpsuit is made of a blend of cotton and silk, crafted in India by skilled artisans on a handloom. The fabric is substantial but not thick, textured but not scratchy, light-catching but not shimmery, and is quite breathable for warm-weather wear. The base is a warm ivory accented by lime green and a magenta — a palette reminiscent of greenery surrounding redbud blossoms in the early spring.

In addition to the fabric, this jumpsuit uses organic cotton thread, organic cotton trim, two vintage mother of pearl buttons, a YKK metal zipper, and organic cotton garment labels.

The Roadrunner is fitted throughout the bust, waist, and hips, so I suggest going with the largest size corresponding to all three measurements on our size chart. The Roadrunner runs true to size, but if you're in between sizes, I recommend sizing up.
