Smaller, but more nimble than the great Claymore, the leading clansmen of Isles favored a lighter and more practical weapon for seafaring and coastal raiding. Like the Claymore, they were characterised by their forward sloping arms, and many examples can be seen on grave slabs throughout the west of Scotland.
