This handcrafted wood bow tie is made from two woods, the first being the Tiama Mahogany and the second being the Curtisia Dentuta, both being from Africa.
The Tiama Mahogany, is long, dark, hard and strong, like a Body Builder from the Congo.
The Curtisia Dentuta is more commonly known as the Zulu Assegai and gets its name from the African spear. Which was traditionally made from the tree's strong wood. The Zulu would intentionally damage the tree's trunk, causing it to coppice from its base. The straight, strong shoots of the coppice were then used for the shafts of the spears.
Now you are smarter, congrats.
