This is a 1940s hand painted tie featuring a depiction of two sailboats.  This 1940s hand painted tie is made of satin rayon, half brown and half green - rayon was the fabric of choice starting during WWII due to the shortage of silk.  Note that I couldn’t capture the satin look in my photos.  The painting is in tones of blue, yellow, red, white and black.  The back of the tie is printed with “An Original Hand Painting Oriental Art Studios”.  The necktie is in excellent condition with no noted soiling, wear, tear, paint cracking or discolouration.  A note of caution - do not apply a hot iron to the material. The tie measures 51” in length and has a width of 4 3/8” at its widest.  This is a striking 1940s hand painted tie - excellent!
