This is a wonderful 1950s dress made of white gabardine-like fabric, possibly natural wood rayon, with black outlined floral cutwork. This 1950s dress is made with cap sleeves, has a wide V neckline, elasticized tucking at the centre front waist and has a full cut skirt. There are loops at either side of the waist, but the belt present is my addition and not original - you could always provide a belt of your choosing, but this belt is included. This 1950s dress was photographed with a crinoline - the use of a crinoline creates a fuller look although it’s not absolutely necessary. The dress closes with a zipper at the left side. It is unlined.
Label: None , however most likely manufactured
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a medium, please note the following measurements for fit:
Bust: 38”
Waist: 24” to 27” fully stretched
Hips: Full - meant to fall loosely and flare out
Length: 47”, measured flat
Condition: This 1950s dress is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour. This is an ink dot at the centre bodice and a thin ink line at the right lower front above the waist, both very minor and barely noticeable. I haven’t tried to remove them, but there are methods for doing so should you desire, although I don’t really see the need.
This is an exceptional 1950s dress - wonderful for summer wear!
