This is a souvenir concert tour program titled The Biggest Rock n Roll Show of 56. The show featured some really great acts - Bill Haley and the Comets, The Platters, Clyde McPhatter, La Vern Baker, Joe Turner, The Teenagers featuring Frankie Lymon, The Teen Queens, Bo Diddley, The Drifters, The Flamingos, The Colts and Red Prysock and his Rock n Roll Orchestra. This was an unusual tour in that it featured almost all African American acts except for Bill Haley, an anomaly at the time, and controversial - the tour was not received with open arms in the 47 cities that it appeared, rock and roll being targeted as being decadent and dangerous. The program consists of 24 pages plus cover and measures 9 by 12. It is in great condition - there is a small brown spot visible near the spine on four pages, really minor, and a couple of white crease marks on the front cover, again, very minor. A lot of great full page promo photos of the groups along with bios. This is a wonderful collectible souvenir program dating to the height of the rock and roll era.
