This is a vintage Ao Dai Vietnamese dress made of beautiful quality lightweight silk taffeta, known as paper taffeta.  The Ao Dai is similar to the Chinese Cheongsam, but has high slits at either side that go up to the waist and would be worn with pants. There are no pants with this vintage Ao Dai, but you can use plain pants (the Vietnamese use either white, black or pastel pants depending on their age and marital status), or try a Western variation, perhaps shorts or leggings.  This was custom made and is entirely hand sewn.  It closes at the neck and along the right side with a series of snaps culminating in two hooks and eyes at the hip.  This vintage Ao Dai is printed in a striking floral design in tones of red, pink, green, blue, grey and white.

Sizing: No size is indicated as this vintage Ao Dai was custom made, but this should fit a medium size - please rely on the following exterior measurements for fit:

Neck:  13 3/4”-14” around

Shoulders and sleeves:  54” from one sleeve cuff, over the shoulders to the other cuff / 27” from the mid-neck to the cuff edge

Bust:  38”-39” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  27” around

Hips:  41” around

Overall length:  52”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This vintage Ao Dai is in very clean condition with no wear, tear or staining - this dress was obviously treasured and well kept over the years.
