This is a pretty 1950s dress made of a synthetic white semi-transparent organdy fabric that is printed with lilac purple flowers and studded with rhinestones on the bodice. The fabric is layered over a blush coloured acetate, a little to the lilac tone, which gives the top layer a soft pinkish appearance. This 1950s dress is sleeveless, has a wide scoop neckline, a full cut skirt and has loops at either side of the waist, but no belt is present - you could always provide a belt of your choosing. This 1950s dress was photographed with a crinoline - the use of a crinoline creates a fuller look although it’s not absolutely necessary. The dress closes with a metal zipper at the back. It comes with a lilac coloured shoulder shrug that is held in place with a loop at the back - it can be used also as a scarf.
Label: None , however manufactured
Fabric: No label is present on this 1950s dress, but the organdy appears to be nylon based and, as mentioned, the base fabric is acetate
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a medium, please note the following measurements for fit:
Bust: 36”
Waist: 27”
Hips: 42” - full, meant to fall loosely and flare out
Length: 43”, measured flat
Condition: This 1950s dress is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour. This is a tiny stain to the under skirt but this is not visible. There may be the slightest toning to the underarm, but really subtle.
This is a very pretty 1950s dress - wonderful for a garden party!
