This is a wonderful late 1950s or early 1960s vintage tuxedo jacket or dinner jacket made in a black wool with faille (grosgrain) lapels.   This vintage tuxedo jacket has padded shoulders, shawl lapels, and jetted pockets at either side as well as a pocket at the left chest.  There is a single vent at the bottom back.  The jacket does up with a single button closure at the waist.  There are 2 interior pockets and there are three buttons at either cuff. This vintage tuxedo jacket is fully lined in a black acetate fabric. 

Fabric:  unmarked, but most likely a silk and wool blend

Tailor’s label: Warren K Cook Tailored Cook Clothing Company Ltd Toronto.  Warren K Cook was a Toronto manufacturer with a fairly long history.  I’ve had a number of items made by them in the past, some dating back to the 1930s

Retailer’s label: Case Limited Montreal`

Sizing: Size 40 is indicated, and although this should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the outside:

Shoulders:  16 1/2” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves:  25” long

Sleeve Inseam:  17 3/4”

Chest: 44 1/2”

Waist: 41”

Overall length: 30 1/2“

Condition: This vintage tuxedo jacket is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, soiling or staining. This jacket looks like it saw little use and was well cared for over the years.

This is a striking 1950s 60s vintage tuxedo jacket - quality fabric and wonderful style!
