For over two decades Amy Nguyen has been cultivating her love of art and fabric. During the last decade, her artistic journey led her in the direction of wearable art. She uses ancient dyeing techniques of shibori, rozome, and katazome to express pattern and color on a single piece of expansive white cloth, which is deconstructed and then hand-cut, stitched, and pieced. Kinetic in nature, each piece is both sculptural and functional on the body.
This exceptional garment took Amy over 4 years to create. She saved the scraps from every garment she created so no materials were wasted. Then she hand-cut each piece, hand-dyed each piece and wove them together to create this work of art! This garment will never be able to be created again. Exceptional workmanship. Unbelievable detailing.
