This is an orange agate antique glove button hook. It has a silver plate ferrule and a brass hook and is possibly of Scottish origin.  This button hook is part of the collection of button hooks that was amassed by a long time collector. It measures 2 7/8” in length.  These smaller button hooks were used for gloves, dress buttons, sleeves or shirt collars and are generally called glove hooks.  It is in very good condition with no pronounced defect.
