Collidge is a clothing project involving three creatives: Bailey Whisler, Dawry Ruiz, and Malcolm McCanles. The trio met as students in UW-Madison’s Studio Learning Community and were inspired to work together on Collidge after their experience at the 2020 The Studio “Project Thrift'' event. Collidge’s designs are inspired by a combination of images and characterizations from the 1930’s a la Fleischer Studios and early cartoon animation, the late ‘90s skater style, and the DIY mindset of Gen Z. As a new brand, people are unsure of what to expect next from Collidge. With the ”No Prerequisites Required” capsule, they hope to reflect the feeling of having little to no expectations placed upon you, and the doubt and lack of direction that come with that feeling.
