This is a 1970s Dunn & Co overcoat that is made of houndstooth tweed.  The fabric is woven in tones of black and grey with blue checking.  This Dunn & Co overcoat is very natty, made with a straight pointy collar, shoulder epaulettes, a four button closure, button down cuff belts and has a matching belt that cinches the waist.  It has a pocket at either side and you can form small lapels by leaving the top button undone (see photos).  The coat is fully lined in a grey viscose fabric and has a 19” kick vent.  

Label: Dunn & Co. Great Britain.  Dunn & Co was founded in 1887 eventually expanding into a chain of 200 retailers with a string of High Street stores offering high quality formal wear, suits and jackets.  They closed operations in 1996

Sizing: There is no size label on this Dunn & Co overcoat - from my experience American sizing on jackets is usually 4” smaller than chest size, so this would be about a size 40 - please rely on the following measurements for fit (compare measurements with a similar coat that you presently own or to your own body measurements, taking the cut of the garment into account):

Shoulders: 18” across from shoulder/sleeve seams

Sleeves: 26” from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve inseam: 17”

Chest:  44”

Waist:  40”

Overall length:  41”, measured flat at the back from the neck

Condition:  This Dunn & Co overcoat is in very clean condition with no stains, odour, wear or tears - this 1970s houndstooth tweed Dunn & Co overcoat looks to have seen very little use and has been well cared for over the years.

This is a well tailored 1970s houndstooth tweed Dunn & Co overcoat - many years of use left in this!
