Vintage 70s Aquascutum Trench Coat Raincoat Mens Size XL

by poppysvintageclothing.com

$ 110.00

  • Product Description

This is a wonderful vintage trench coat made in Canada by Aquascutum of London.  The trench coat is made of a cotton/poly blend and has a checked lining.  It has all of the details seen on a quality trench coat - military style collar and lapels, button down epaulets on the shoulders, adjustable straps on the cuffs of the sleeves, matching belt with metal rings, drip flap across the upper back and a kick pleat at the back.  The collar can be worn up to protect the neck and the left lapel can be buttoned to the right in order to cover the neckline.  This trench coat is cut with raglan sleeves and the buttons down the front are arranged in a double breasted style.  It has a pocket at either side as well as a slit to allow access to one’s jacket.

Age: 1970s, maybe early 80s

Label: Aquascutum Made in Canada along with the “By Appointment” Royal Coat of Arms

Color: Beige in a slightly greenish tone

Material:  55% Cotton / 45% Polyester - Aqua 5 Water Repellent fabric

Sizing: No size is indicated on this trench coat, but this should fit an extra large size -  please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders:  24” across from just outside one epaulet to the other epaulet (difficult to measure due to raglan sleeve cut)

Sleeves:  35 1/2” long approximate, from the mid neck seam

Sleeve Inseam:  17 3/4”

Chest: 50” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 49” around, but meant to be cinched with the belt

Length: 49”

Condition: It is in very good condition with just a few small issues.  There is blackish linear mark to the inner opening near the bottom left.  The small button at the bottom of either side pocket is missing, but this doesn’t affect much.  The leather covered belt buckle is a little bent and the leather on the buckles has slight wear.  There is some very slight soiling at the back neck, next to nothing, but mentioned in the interest of full disclosure.  And finally, there is some very slight piling to the checked lining, again, quite minor.  Otherwise, this trench coat presents itself very well as you can see in the photos.

This is a classic Aquascutum trench coat....attractive colour and attractive trench coat styling offered at a very reasonable price - great if it fits!
