This is a mens vintage early 1970s plaid sport coat made in a brown and henna brown check pattern against a white wool twill background.  This 1970s plaid sport coat is made with high set wide notched lapels, a three button closure and has a leather covered flap and epaulet at the right shoulder only. The shoulders are padded and there is a button-down flapped box pleated pocket built onto either side as well as at the chest.  The sleeves have three buttons at each cuff and there is a leather patch at either elbow - all buttons are leather covered.  The back has a 12” long back bottom centre vent and a decorative faux belt across the back.  This 1970s plaid sport coat is fully lined.
Maker’s label:  Daks Simpson London Tailored Made in England for Simpson’s Canada.  Simpson’s dropped the apostrophe from their name in 1972, dating the jacket prior to that year

Sizing: No size is indicated on this 1970s plaid sport coat and although this should fit a medium size (US size 38/40), please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior:

Sleeve Inseam: 18 1/2” long
Chest: 43” around, taken under the arms (size is usually 3”-4” less than chest measurement)

Overall length: 31“, measured flat at the back from the neck seam
Condition: This 1970s plaid sport coat is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour, except for stain spotting to the left elbow patch as well as two tiny “lifts” to the leather on that same patch (see last close-up photo) - these just need a tiny touch of leather glue.  Otherwise, no other noted wear, tear or odour on this 1970s plaid sport coat.
